WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump’s recently-imposed tariffs against Mexico and Canada could have a “significant” economic effect on both countries, the International Monetary Fund’s communications director warned Thursday.
“If sustained, the impact of the US tariffs on Canada and Mexico can be expected to have a significant adverse economic impact on those countries, given their very strong integration and exposure to the US market,” Julie Kozack told reporters in Washington.
