LAHORE: Syed Hassan Murtaza, General Secretary of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Central Punjab, responded to the recent statement by Punjab’s Information Minister, Azma Zahid Bukhari criticizing Maryam Nawaz’s performance as limited to creating TikTok videos.
Murtaza alleged that the government is treating districts outside of Lahore unfairly, focusing billions of rupees in developmental funds solely on Lahore while leaving the rest of the province neglected.
He claimed that Maryam Nawaz’s policies have pushed Punjab’s farmers, traders, and labourers into economic despair, particularly destroying traders’ businesses. Murtaza emphasized that the Governor of Punjab, as the constitutional head of the province, has a duty to point out the government’s shortcomings.
Murtaza praised the Sindh government’s efforts in health and education, which have been recognized globally. He asserted that PPP comes to power through “people’s power,” not just claims.
Murtaza also commended President Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s efforts to restore Pakistan’s global reputation, boldly stating, “Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will be Pakistan’s next Prime Minister. Try to stop it if you can!”, said Murtaza.
