LAHORE: The nation will celebrate the 148th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam, Muhammad Ali Jinnah with national zeal and fervour on Wednesday (today).

The day will dawn with gun salutes in the federal and provincial capitals after which a graceful changing of the guard’s ceremony will be held at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi. Quran Khawani would also be held at the Mazar-e-Quaid.

A large number of people from all walks of life are expected to visit the mausoleum to pay tribute to the Founder of the Nation for the services he rendered for creating a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent.

Special prayers will be offered for the country’s security, progress and prosperity. There will be a public holiday and the national flag will hoist atop all public and private buildings.

Quaid’s birth anniversary celebrated with zeal, fervour

Various activities have been planned in which speakers will shed light on the Quaid-e-Azam’s lifelong political struggle and his guiding principles of unity, faith and discipline.

Born on December 25, 1876, in Karachi, Quaid-e-Azam led the movement for a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent.

To mark the day, various cultural events, painting exhibition, tableau and speech contest will also be organised with the aim of educating the youth about Quaid’s vision and his ideology of Pakistan.

Muhammad Ali Jinnah was a lawyer by profession and a politician. He served as the leader of All-India Muslim League from 1913 until Pakistan’s independence on Aug 14, 1947, and then as Pakistan’s first governor general until his death on September 11, 1948.

Leaders belonging to different parties paid glowing tributes to the Father of Nation for a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent.

Great man, great leader n sacrifices for Pakistan. We are ashamed of how different we have made the country into, now surviving on loans n falling apart in every sector.
