KARACHI: The local gold market on Tuesday surged to new highs with the global bullion value rising above $ 2450 an ounce, traders said.
The midweek gold market showed some momentum with an increase of Rs 1200 and Rs 1029 to reach all-time highs of Rs 257,700 per tola and Rs 220, 936 per 10 grams.
On the world market, gold bullion value surged by $ 19 to $ 2,458 an ounce while silver continued to sell at $ 28 an ounce, traders said.
Domestically, silver prices remained steady at Rs 2,850 per tola and Rs 2,443.41 per 10 grams, traders added.
