LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is learnt to have decided to entrust important responsibilities to former captain Waqar Younis.
As per sources, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi will look after the administrative affairs of the PCB and take decisions including international, domestic, selection committee matters, players’ No-Objection Certificates (NOCs). PCB chairman’s prime focus will be on the administrative affairs of the Champions Trophy, the sources said.
Waqar Younis will get a key position in PCB and will look after the affairs of Men’s cricket matters, the sources added.
According to the PCB Constitution 2014, the Chairman has the authority to delegate his power to anyone. Waqar Younis will be in charge of all matters related to the national team, the sources said.
It may be noted that Mohsin Naqvi had already held consultations with former cricketers in a bid to strengthen cricketing affairs on sound footings.
