LAHORE: An Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday adjourned bail petitions of PTI-Punjab Dr Yasmin Rashid in two cases of the May 9 riots till May 13.

The hearing was put off without any progress due to the lawyers’ strike.

The PTI leader sought bail in cases of torching the PML-N office in Model Town and police vehicles on Sher Pao Bridge.

Meanwhile another court granted post-arrest bail to six suspects and denied to three others in the Corps Commander House attack case.

The court also adjourned the bail petitions of 15 other suspects till Friday (today).

The court allowed the bail petitions of Mujahid Ali Shah, Ali Shariq, Ahsan Zaki, Iftikhar Ali, Zainul Abideen and Haider Ali.

The court however dismissed the bail petitions of Raza Ali, Bilal Wajahat and Khizar Hayat.

Opposing the bail petitions, prosecutor said that Hayat was involved in injuring then DIG Operations Ali Nasir Rizvi.

He said Wajahat had stolen books and paintings from the Corps Commander House during the May 9 riots while Raza had injured a police constable.

He argued that the petitioners/suspects did not deserve bail as the trial proceedings against them were near to conclusion.

The court inclining with the arguments of prosecutor dismissed the bail petitions.
