ISLAMABAD: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Maj-Gen Ahmed Sharif on Tuesday said the Pakistan army has directly deposited Rs100 billion in the form of duties and taxes during 2022-23.
Referring further to the tax payments made by other major business groups, Maj-Gen Sharif pointed out that various institutions operating under the umbrella of the military contributed significantly to the country’s tax revenue, with a total tax payment of Rs260 billion.
Additionally, the Fauji Foundation, a prominent entity associated with the armed forces, made substantial tax deposits amounting to Rs223 billion during the same period.

Furthermore, Maj-Gen Sharif revealed that the Defence Housing Authority (DHA), a key player in the country’s real estate sector, also contributed significantly to government tax revenue, generating Rs25 billion in taxes. This substantial tax contribution from various military-related entities highlights their substantial economic footprint and underscores their commitment to contributing to the country’s fiscal well-being.
