HONG KONG: Hong Kong shares rallied at the open of trade Friday, building on an eight-day surge, following a strong Wall Street performance ahead of key US jobs data later in the day.
The Hang Seng Index climbed 1.85 percent, or 336.17 points, to 18,543.30.
Mainland Chinese markets are closed for a holiday.
