Israeli minister attends UN conference in Saudi Arabia

This is happening while a Saudi delegation led by Saudi ambassador to Palestine, is visiting the West Bank by crossing the land border from Jordan. Mutual steps leading to creation of Independent Palestinian state, including East Jerusalem is welcome. Most moderate Muslim Palestinian supporters have no problem with that. KSA and MBS appear to have not thrown the Palestinians under the bus, which is also a positive.

Non resident KSA ambassador to Palestine is visiting West Bank by crossing the land border from Israel, which appears to be a soft recognition of an Israeli acceptance of an Independent Palestinian state. If that leads to a formal Independent Palestinian state including East Jerusalem, then the animosity between the Muslim world and Israel as well as the West, by extension , can be significantly diminished. KSA and MBS’s standing in the Muslim world will also improve, for not having thrown the Palestinians under the bus. Like they say, let’s not count the chickens before they hatch. But things appear to be moving in the right direction. Fingers crossed.

For the most part, Jews have enjoyed much more security and prosperity under the Muslims , for centuries, than in Europe. That shows that Muslims will not have a problem with Israel, if it gets out of Palestinian lands, leading to the creation of an independent Palestinian state that should include East Jerusalem.

@Az_Iz, What do you suggest we do, if KSA does not support pre 1967 borders, should we cut ties with them.

@TidBit, East Jerusalem is key, and giving up on this is not acceptable to even moderate Muslims. And the issue with Israel will not be settled, no matter how long it takes, or whatever anyone else does. Outside of that, mutually agreed adjustments to the borders is something that happens in many disputes. Whatever the Saudis do, they will have to deal with that. Their standing in the Muslim world, not just Pakistan will take a beating. It does not mean, everyone will break their relationship with them. Also, whatever the KSA government does is not binding on the Muslims. No one can make decision for everyone else.

@TidBit, KSA or for that matter any other Muslim country is not the ultimate authority in making decisions for all the Muslims. KSA , being in charge of the most important country in the Muslim world, only has a responsibility in making decisions that are not only in their interests, but also in the interest of the Muslim world. That is the expectation. If they act otherwise , it will diminish their standing, although others may not break their relationships with them. And their decisions are not binding on other Muslims.

@TidBit, a simple understanding of world history shows that occupation and dominance is not permanent at all. Palestinians have lived in those lands for more than ten thousand years. Jews came much later. Palestinians will get their lands back, sooner or later. Muslims will always back them. If there were doubts about Muslims support to the Palestinians, they were laid to rest during the Soccer World Cup in Qatar.
