Activities of Karachi Port and Port Qasim

KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 122,886 tonnes of cargo comprising 61,754 tonnes of import cargo and 61,132 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours.

The total import cargo of 61,754 comprised of 46,978 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 9,676 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 2,100 tonnes of Rock Phosphate and 3,000 tonnes of Oil and Liquid Cargo.

The total export cargo of 61,132, tonnes comprised of 55,867 tonnes of containerized cargo, 215 tonnes of Bulk Cargo and 5,050 tonnes of Oil & Liquid Cargo.

As many as, 9446 containers comprising of 3871 containers import and 5575 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.

The break-up of imported containers shows 515 of 20’s and 1676 of 40’s loaded while 00 of 20’s and 02 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 761 of 20’s and 1332 of 40’s loaded containers while 76 of 20’s and 1037 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours on Thursday.

Some 05 ships namely, Sunrise, Xin Shanghai, New Liulinhai, Energy Centaur and Dream Diva have berthed at Karachi Port.

Around, 05 ships namely, Kmtc Mundra, RDO Concord, Dream Diva, Wide Hotel and At 27 sailed out from Karachi Port.

Valentine, Emirates Zanzibar, X-Press Bardsey, Star Centaurus, HTK Lavender, MT Karachi, Uranus, Independent Spirit, Hyundai Hong Kong, GFS Prestice and Yong DA 9 were expected to arrive on the same day.

PORT QASIM

A total of 07 ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them, 04 more ships, Irenes Ray, Xpress Bardsey, Gas Athena and SSI Victory are expected to sail on today in the afternoon.

A cargo volume of 74,253 tonnes, comprising 45,334 tonnes imports cargo and 28,919 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 2,019` Containers (755 TEUs Imports and 1,264 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.

There are 10 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them 04 ships, Glorious Sea, Dolphin-18, Ejnan and Umm Bab & two more ships, GC Sapphire and OOCL Washington scheduled to load/offload Rice, LNG, Chemical and Containers are expected to take berths at MW-1, FAP, EETL, PGPCL, EVTL and QICT on Thursday, 23rd June while 03 more containers ships, Angolikos, MSC Iris and Maersk Jalan are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Friday 24th June-2022.
