Financial investors raise net long position in Euronext wheat

PARIS: Non-commercial market participants expanded their net long position in Euronext’s milling wheat futures and options in the week to Nov. 26, data published by Euronext on Wednesday showed.

Non-commercial participants, which include investment funds and financial institutions, extended their net long position to 189,186 contracts from 171,924 a week earlier, the data showed. Commercial participants increased their net short position to 214,867 contracts from 200,907 a week earlier.

Commercials’ short positions accounted for 64.3% of the total short position, while commercial long positions accounted for 34.4% of total long positions. Non-commercial short positions represented 35.7% of total short positions, while non-commercial net long positions accounted for 65.6% of the total longs.
