Spain's September jobless falls by 0.69pc m/m to 3.8mn

  • There were about 13,907 more jobless people in Spain in September than in the same month in 2019.

The number of people in Spain registering as jobless fell by 0.69pc in September from a month earlier, or by 26,329 people, leaving 3.8 million people out of work, data from the Labour Ministry showed on Friday.

The number of jobless people had risen in August by 0.79pc as new outbreaks of the coronavirus and travel restrictions imposed by other countries began taking a toll after months of timid recovery from an initial lockdown.

There were about 13,907 more jobless people in Spain in September than in the same month in 2019.
