LAHORE: The Punjab Agriculture Department (PAD) has reiterated its warning to the growers for not putting rice stubbles on fire as it generates smog. These stubbles instead should be buried in the land as it will increase fertility of the land.
PAD spokesman warned growers here on Tuesday that the department would take every possible step to save the incidents of putting rice stubbles on fire as smog may leave negative impact on crops, orchards and vegetables. He said that field assistances will monitor the burning of rice stubbles on daily basis and report would be submitted to the divisional directors concerned.
