PESHAWAR: Chairman, Pak-Afghan Liaison Committee, (Ministry of Commerce) and Director Transit Trade, Amjad-ur-Rehman has said that the reservations of the business community of both countries on Afghanistan Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement (APTTA) will be redressed soon, said a press release issued here on Sunday.

He was addressing a meeting of the committee held here at Customs House under his chairmanship, the other day said a press release. Beside, the Additional Collector, Mohammad Tayyab, Additional Collector Appraisement Zakir Mohammad, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TADP), Atlas Khan, Afghan Commercial Attaché Mohammad Fawad Adarash and member of the committee and President, Frontier Customs Agents Group Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi attended the meeting.

Speaking about hurdles in Pak-Afghan bilateral and Transit Trade, Amjad-ur-Rehman said that since March this year, Coronavirus and lockdown have impacted trade across the world that had also reflected in both bilateral and transit trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The meeting showed unanimity that Pak-Afghan Liaison Committee, Transit Trade Directorate and PAJCCI and Afghan Consulate will present their recommendations to concerned authorities of both the countries.

Addressing the meeting, Chairman, SCCI standing committee on Pakistan Railways & Dry Port, Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi especially highlighted the lack of facilities at Azakhel Dry Port that is also affecting transit cargo.
