ISLAMABAD: The number of confirmed coronavirus cases witnessed an upward trend on Wednesday in the federal capital following gap of two days as 76 new cases were reported, taking the total number of positive cases to 14,701. The positivity rate of the Covid-19 remained at 3.0 percent against 2,527 tests run on high-risk positive patients.
Out of 14,701 total patients, 12,023 have completely recovered, and 161 have died, since the outbreak of coronavirus in the country.
According to official data, the recovery rate of the Covid-19 patients remained at 82 percent, while the number of active cases has reduced to 26,023.
Out of 76 cases reported in the city, 52 were male and 24 were female. Of the 76 cases, 13 cases were reported from Sector G-7, seven each from Sector G-11, and Sector G-10, five from Tarlai, four each from PWD, Model Town, Burma Town and Bahra Kahu, three from sector F-8, two each from Tarnol, Sohan, Margalla Town, G-8, G-5, E-11, and Ali Pur, one each from Zia Masjid, PIMS, Sector I-10, H-8, H-9, H-13, Golra Mor, G-6, G-13, F-7, and F-6.
