KARACHI: The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) in its conclusive report on Lyari's gangster Uzair Jan Baloch revealed that the accused has confessed to having killed 198 people on ethnic and political grounds.
The report has found that accused Uzair used to collect some Rs10 million per month extortion money from different trade associations and gambling/drug dens. The Sindh Home Department on Monday uploaded the JIT report of notorious gangster Uzair Baloch on its website.
The accused disclosed to the JIT that his activists, Jabbar Langra, Nisar, Fida Mota and others, had killed 11 sympathizers of a political party for paying extortion money to that party.
Uzair disclosed that on his instructions former town Nazim of Lyari, Malik Muhammad Khan, was killed by his aide Amin Buledi. The accused has disclosed that in order to take revenge of his father's killing by Arshad Papu Group, he, along with police officials and his gangsters, kidnapped Arshad Pappu, Yasir Arfat and Shera Pathan.
The kidnapping was done in police mobiles arranged by Inspector Yousuf Baloch, and the hostages were taken to Aadam Tea warehouse in Lyari where the accused, along with Faisal Pathan, Ustad Taju, Sheraz Comrade, Baba Ladla, Jabbar Langra and others, killed the hostages. Thereafter their bodies were set ablaze and dumped in a gutter.
Uzair Baloch has confessed to having killed three police constables, Shuja Shah, Tufaor Ahmed and Raj. He also killed two Rangers' personnel, Havaldars Munir and Ijaz.
Uzair disclosed that during Layri operation in 2012, he had ordered his close aides to resist a police party and restrict their movement at 8 Chowk. During the encounter with police five or six policemen /civilians were killed and many others wounded.
The accused also disclosed his involvement in armed attacks on different police stations in Lyari - PS Kalri, PS Baghdadi, PS Chakiwara, PS Kalakot and police quarters.
The JIT found that the accused has a large number of assets managed through black money both in Pakistan and in Dubai.
The accused has been involved in illegal purchase of weapons. He also laundered huge amount of money through his aides and told the JIT about his illegal assets abroad.
The accused is found involved in espionage activities by providing secret information/sketches regarding army installations and officials to Iranian intelligence officers. The accused has also been involved in drug trafficking.
The JIT unanimously declared accused Uzair Ali alias Sardar Uzair Jan as "Black" in the light of his criminal history. The JIT strongly recommended that the accused be tried under the Pakistan Army Act for his involvement in espionage activities which falls under the Official Secrets Act 1923.
