LAHORE: With 1,143 fresh cases across the province in the last 24 hours, Punjab has reported 72,880 coronavirus cases with 1,656 deaths so far.
As per the government's Covid-19 portal, after 27 more deaths due to coronavirus, the total number of fatalities in the province has reached to 1,656.
About 470,507 tests of coronavirus have so far been conducted across the province with 9,353 tests conducted during the last 24 hours.
With recovery of 331 more coronavirus patients, the total number of recovered patients has reached to 21,340 across the province so far.
The total number of Covid-19 cases in the provincial metropolis of Lahore has reached to about 37,575 with 656 deaths so far. In Rawalpindi, around 5,722 corona cases have been reported with 288 deaths so far. In Faisalabad, about 4,801 Covid-19 cases have so far been reported with 163 deaths.
In different hospitals of the provincial metropolis, around 800 coronavirus patients are under treatment out of which around 130 are on ventilators, sources claimed.
Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid, in a briefing said that best treatment facilities are being extended to coronavirus patients in public sector hospitals.
She said that doctors are serving patients of coronavirus without caring for their own lives. She said lockdown in hot spot areas is yielding positive results.
