HAMBURG: South Korea's Feedmill Group (MFG) purchased about 130,000 tonnes of corn to be sourced optionally from the United States or South America in a deal last week, European traders said on Monday.
The purchases involved two consignments of number three grade yellow corn, both purchased from trading house Pan Ocean.
The deals involved 65,000 tonnes for arrival in South Korea around April 30 bought at $193.67 a tonne c&f plus a $1.25 a tonne surcharge for additional port unloading.
Another 65,000 tonnes for May 10 arrival was bought at $193.55 a tonne c&f plus a $1.25 a tonne surcharge for additional port unloading.
South Korea's largest feedmaker Nonghyup Feed Inc (NOFI) also purchased about 137,000 tonnes of corn and 65,000 tonnes of feed wheat in an international tender on Wednesday.
