EU 2017/18 soft wheat exports down 20pc at 10.9mn T by Jan. 9

PARIS: European Union soft wheat exports in the 2017/18 season that started on July 1 had reached 10.9 million tonnes by Jan. 9, down 20 percent from 13.6 million tonnes exported by the same stage last season, official data showed on Thursday.

EU 2017/18 barley exports had reached 2.7 million tonnes, up 12 percent from 2.4 million a year earlier. Maize imports came to 7.9 million tonnes, 45 percent above the 5.4 million imported by the same stage last season, the data showed.
