PIA's Baby Day Care Centre, inaugurated by Uzma Aijaz Haroon, wife of Managing Director PIA, Captain Muhammad Aijaz Haroon was recently visited by her. She also visited Al-Shifa Trust, Special School & Centre for Rehabilitation for special children. During her visit to the Baby Day Care Centre, she spent some time with the children.
She was pleased with the progress of the Day Care Centre during the past year. The number of children in the centre is increasing so keeping in view the need of more space; she approved the plan for extension of the Baby Day Care Centre. While visiting the Al-Shifa Trust, she went to different sections and met the children in their classes. She appreciated the role of Al-Shifa Trust for providing facility of special treatment and education to the special children.
"The use of modern technology and treatment for the special children will help them to come into terms with the mainstream society life," she said. It is a trust run by PIA and generous people of our society, where more than hundred special children are facilitated. Due to the efforts of Uzma Aijaz Haroon, Al-Shifa Trust has emerged as a centre of philanthropic activities in its new role, apart from its routine activities.
Moreover, due to an MOU signed among PIA, Al-Shifa and another Joy Foundation USA, Al-Shifa trust receives medicines, hospital supplies and equipment from USA; this aid is then distributed among other charitable organisations. Uzma Aijaz Haroon praised the role of Al-Shifa Trust which is being rendered upon the ailing humanity and assured complete assistance from PIA.-PR
