Government College University (GCU) Lahore Debating Society set a new record by clinching both the English and Urdu Declamation trophies at the All-Pakistan English and Urdu Declamation Contests hosted by Aitchison College Lahore. As many as 26 top intuitions from all over Pakistan including Punjab University, Military College, Jehlum, Forman Christian College University, Lahore Grammar School and LACAS contested for the trophies in the contest.
In English debates, GCU team comprising Ali Zafar and Muhammad Ali Jee Saleemi won the English Declamation Trophy, while GCU Debating Society General Secretary Ali Zafar also won the second prize in the English debates. In Urdu Debates, GCU team mates Ali Zafar and Saad-ul-Hassan lifted the Urdu Declamation Trophy, while Saad-ul-Hassan of GCU was declared the second Best Urdu Speaker.-PR
