NWFP Minister for Social Welfare and Women Development Sitara Ayaz said that government was making hectic efforts to solve problems of Internally Displaced Peoples (IDPs) and would provide best possible facilities to them.
"It is not possible for government to give the home like environment to IDPS but still the present regime will try to overcome the problems of IDPs, she said on occasion of distribution of relief goods including tents, blankets and food items among the IDP's in District Co-ordination Office Swabi.
Minister for Zakat and Ursh Haji Zarshad Khan, District Co-ordination Officer Swabi, Zakir Hussain Afridi, Assistant Co-ordination Officer Swabi, Rozam Khan, International Islamic Relief Organisation (IIRO) Director General, Abdu Muhammad Attain and other officials were also present on the occasion. The minister thoroughly observed the relief activities and difficulties, which are being faced by the IDP's.
Provincial minister said that due to winter season our aim was to protect the children of IDPs from cold and diseases. "We welcome the relief agencies like Unicef, UNHCR, and IIRO etc for facilitating the IDP's she remarked. She further stated that government was helping the IDPs through public private partnership and in this connection Saudi relief agency, Islamic International Relief Organisation (IIRO). IIRO's co-operation were highly appreciated. Provincial minister praised the efforts of Saudi relief Agency's Director General, Abdu Muhammad Attain and said that Saudi government always helped the Pakistanis in the time of need.
