Investigators have failed to get any data on the suicide bombers of the twin suicide blasts on main gates of the Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF) Wah Cantonment, even after recovery of fingers and other body parts of the suicide bombers.
But the mastermind of the twin suicide bombings Hameedullah disclosed during the course of investigation that both the suicide bombers were teenage boys of 15 and 18 years respectively, police sources told Business Recorder on Monday.
They said that Hameedullah revealed to the investigators that both the suicide bombers belonged to Tribal Areas and stayed in a local madressah for some days before they blew themselves up at Main Gate and Gate No 1 of the POF Wah, killing more than 85 people and injuring 80 others.
Police arrested more than 15 suspects on the identification of Hameedullah and shifted them to some undisclosed location for investigation, police sources said, adding that some useful information was collected from Hameedullah and other detained persons, which will help in unearthing the complete network.
They said that security agencies have recovered fingers and other body parts of the suicide bombers and could not find any match of them with the national data base of the country prepared by Nadra (National Database and Registration Authority).
Hameedullah, 20, belonging to Khyber Agency, was awarded 10-day physical remand by Anti Terrorist Court Rawalpindi and is in custody of Wah Police and Joint Investigation Team (JIT) are interrogating him.
It is pertinent to note that Hamidullah mastermind of the twin blasts of POF Wah was arrested near Aslam Market of the Wah Cantonment when he was trying to flee in a taxi from the scene of the blasts outside the POF complex. An explosives-packed suicide jacket and some hand grenades were also recovered from his possession.
