ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali Wednesday said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was not cooperating with the federal government to establish more grid stations in the province.
The KP government had been complaining of load-shedding while their District Nazim Mardan was found in electricity theft, he said talking to a private news channel.
He said the government had asked the provincial government to acquire land to establish grid stations in various districts but the provincial government took no measure in this regard for almost three years.
The minister said the federal government had been extending full support and assistance but they were not serious to take steps.
The federal government had given Rs. 70 billion net profit on hydel to KP, he said.
Abid Sher Ali said there was zero load-shedding on 252 feeders in KP while load-shedding was in those areas only where power theft was more than 50 percent.
110 KP feeders were going in 98 percent power loss, he said, in such areas electricity load-shedding was higher.
