Pakistani actress Mahira Khan who is all set to make her big Bollywood debut with 'King of Bollywood' Shah Rukh Khan in 'Raees', has finally able to promote the movie in Dubai.
Due to all the political turmoil, the Pakistani actress was banned to promote her first Bollywood movie in India. However, Dubai being a multi-cultured country has allowed the actress to promote the film in their region.
The news of Mahira's presence at the promotions was first posted by a Dubai-based reporter Sadiq Saleem. He posted, "Finally. #MahiraKhan will be talking to the media today in Dubai. Rush of excitement but only few lucky media houses are entertained". He further tweeted, "Just met @TheMahiraKhan who is looking like an angel in white at the lobby. With a pack of guards behind her. Grace! Flawless!".
Mahira Khan also took to Twitter to post her first look promoting Raees.
On the other hand, with political situation still being unstable, the makers have decided not to let SRK and Mahira promote their film together in Dubai too. They will be giving separate interviews and they will promote Raees separately.
Talking about this latest stance Mahira Khan reveals her frustrations, "Yes Im grateful (to be a part of the film and promote it), but it's something I have worked for! Why shouldnt I feel it? Just because Im an actor? Just because its a film? Just because it seems like fluff? I also want to promote the film. I also want to be in an interview with Shah Rukh Khan talking about it. Why not? Why is it I get told that thats asking for too much? It isnt! It is my right. This was also my film," Dawn reported.
The movie will hit theatres on January 25, 2017.
