Sindh Chief Minister, Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has said that Sindh had taken lead in industrial development and attracting investment as compare to other provinces of the country on account of its policies and provision of infrastructure at all Industrial sites. He was speaking at meeting with the members of Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) here on Thursday.
He said that the Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz was taking keen interest in improving the socio-economic conditions of the people by enhancing investment for sustainable industrial development.
The chief minister said that although all possible required facilities had been provided at all industrial site but there was still a room for improvement. He said the government has decided to extend existing industrial sites.
He advised the office bearers of the HCCI to submit their proposals for extension of industrial estate and establishment of display centre with reference to previous decisions taken by the government.
Arbab Ghulam Rahim also asked the HCCI to establish water treatment plant for safe disposal of their effluent water to Phuleli canal to avoid environment problems.
Referring to the demand of chamber about the fruit and vegetable market chief minister directed the officer concerned to remove all hurdles and provide facilities including the provision of drainage and ensure that the market should be shifted with 45 days.
He assured that the transfer fee of the industrial plot would also be reduced and would be brought in line with other industrial; sites in the province Discussing the demand of opening of Hyderabad Air Port for Cargo Service Arbab said he had already taken up this mater with the Prime Minister who had assured him that Hyderabad Airport would be developed.
While talking about the law and order situation in Sindh he said a Community Policing Assistance (CPA) had been started in Karachi on public police partnership to provide security assistance to industrialists. He asked the industrialists to introduce this programme at Hyderabad for foolproof security facilities.
