imageISLAMABAD: Turkish Ambassador in Pakistan Sadiq Babar Girgin here Thursday called on the Executive Director National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema.

The main purpose of this meeting was to promote the cooperation and exchange in vocational and educational field between Pakistan and Turkey and explore new areas of technical training.

Zulfiqar Cheema briefed the ambassador about the recent initiatives taken by NAVTTC to introduce reforms in the current TVET system of Pakistan.

The Executive Director emphasized that the growing population of youth is the most valuable asset of Pakistan and the need is to polish their skills in various vocational fields so that they contribute towards the sustainable development of the country.

He urged the two countries should enhance their collaboration to reboot the TVET system in Pakistan.

The ambassador praised the steps taken by NAVTTC and informed that Turkey has excelled in the field of construction and hospitality and have earned worldwide recognition in these trades.

To improve the existing training system and standards of vocational institutes of Pakistan, he ensured Turkey's full cooperation particularly in the fields of automotives, textile designing, milk processing, packaging and marketing, industrial goods, construction and hospitality.
