imageQUETTA: The provincial capital remained without gas supply on fifth consecutive day on Wednesday.

Earlier, gas supply was stopped to the metropolis and other cities of Balochistan when fire erupted in gas plant in Sui, officials of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) said.

Later, they said that unidentified armed men blew up a gas supply pipeline with explosives in Dera Bugti.

The gas is being supplied to some specific areas from Zarghoon Gas Field, however, the complete gas supply would be restored after repairing of gas plant and damaged gas pipeline in Sui and Dera Bugti areas, respectively, the SSGC sources.

The suspension of gas supply has created hardships for the people as mercury dropped to -8 degree Centigrade in the city.
