ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms, Ahsan Iqbal Thursday said that the government's top priority is to invest on human resources for the development of social sector and economic stability of the country.
While addressing the "Fifth ASER Annual Status of Education Report 2013", he said the skilled population and knowledge based society would be solution for all internal and external challenges, the country has been facing today.
Ahsan Iqbal also urged for national consensus to change the old form of curriculum to adopt new design of modern education for research.
Ahsan Iqbal stressed the need for making a framework and action plan for the development of national education system in the country.
Ahsan Iqbal said that socio-economic development could be made possible through community participation and involvement of masses.
Federal Minister said that now the traditional concept of national security has been changed in new non-traditional security threat, adding that to compete these challenges "We need to invest more in education system."
He said that the government wants to promote education in remote areas of the country to provide equal opportunity to all people in country’s development and prosperity.
He said that "after 18th Amendment, we need to create new mechanism and better coordination between provinces and federation to achieve our goals for promotion in education system in the country".
He urged the media to create awareness in masses regarding the importance of education and give coverage space in their news.
Ahsan Iqbal said that the government would focus on the promotion of national language in national curriculum to remove the language barrier for students and to acquire creativity.
He said that national commitment change the discriminatory education system in the country to give equal opportunities to all region of the country.
He said, "We should unite and focus on one vision for the economic stability and prosperity of the country."
