Turkey 2011 sugar beet output seen at 14mn tonnes

WASHINGTON: "The Sugar Board decreased the A sugar production quota to 2.2 million tonnes this marketing year to avoid a build-up of stocks. In response to lower production quotas,

the MY 2011 sugar beet production in Turkey is estimated at 14 million tonnes. MY 2011 total centrifugal sugar production is estimated at just under 2.3 million tonnes. In 2010, bid results from attempted privatization were cancelled by the Council of State and privatization has been halted."
