KARACHI: On Thursday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 4,291.

The traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 13.358 billion and the number of lots traded was 16,378.

Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 7.428 billion, followed by NSDQ 100 PKR 1.301 billion, currencies through COTS PKR 1.270 billion, DJ PKR 913.540 million, SP500 PKR 762.216 million, silver PKR 695.435 million, crude oil PKR 536.198 million, platinum PKR 314.518 million, natural gas PKR 101.550 million and copper PKR 34.569 million.

In agriculture commodities 11 lots of wheat amounting to PKR 44.558 million and 2 lots of cotton amounting to PKR 1.018 million were traded.
