Pakistan, India media urge to play role in creating regional stability

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Press Council of Pakistan (PCP) Raja Shafqat Abbasi has urged media of India and Pakistan to play a vital role in creating harmony, prosperity, peace and regional stability in south Asia.

In a good will message to Chairman Press council of India Justice Markandey katju on "Indian National Press Day" he said, there are a lot of commonalities between both the countries and media should take lead in addressing basic issues of masses including poverty, human resource development and regional peace.

Indian National Press Day observed on November, 16 every year.

Since media needs no boundaries, he desired, Press Council of India to take initiatives in defusing friction between neighbouring states and to bring people closer.
