Exercise Seaspark 2012 concludes with debrief session

pakistan navyKARACHI: The 2012 edition of the annual Pakistan Maritime Exercise Seaspark concluded with the debrief session held at PNS Jauhar on Tuesday.

 

The Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila, along with the Higher Commands, attended the debrief session.

 

A Pakistan Navy press release said that the Sea Spark Exercise, being a permanent feature of Pakistan Navy's operational calendar, was conducted with the main objective to assess the operational readiness and provide an opportunity to the Officers and Men to operate under multi-threat environment and exercise responses accordingly.

 

It said that the Exercise planning was based on manifestation of Chief of the Naval Staff's declared strategic priorities of `Ops Readiness and Training'.

 

All operational Ships, Submarines, Aircraft, Marines, Special Forces and Establishments, which also included elements/supporting units from Pakistan Army and PAF, participated to cover the entire gamut of Naval Operations.

 

Later, Officer Conducting Exercise (OCE); the Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff Operations, Rear Admiral Hasham Bin Siddique, presented the analysis of the tactical actions followed by each Force and concurrently gave recommendations to further improve the Responses accordingly.

 

In his closing remarks, the Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Asif Sandila said that complex geostrategic situation in our region warrants a high state of preparedness.

 

Chief of the Naval Staff expressed his satisfaction on successful conduct of Exercise SEASPARK 2012.

 

He said that the exercise was well utilized to validate PN Concept of Security, PN Counter Piracy Plan, utilization of ships, submarines, aircraft and other components, employment of PAF AEW aircraft in support of maritime ops and integration of Z9-EC helicopters to PN Fleet.

 

He added that the effective ground based air defence and successful firing of surface to air missiles and radar controlled guns are a source of satisfaction.
