  • With the latest increase, the greenback is being traded at Rs157.80 at the interbank market.

The flight of the US dollar against the Pakistani rupee continued into the second day of the trading week after the value of USD increased by PKR1.22 at the interbank market on Tuesday.

With the latest increase, the greenback is being traded at Rs157.80 at the interbank market.

It may be mentioned here, that the value of the greenback has increased against PKR for the second consecutive day. The dollar gained sharply versus the rupee in both the inter-bank and open markets on Monday owing to hovering uncertainties about the coronavirus.

The rupee lost Rs 2.27 against the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 156.50 and Rs 156.60, at the interbank market. Whereas, the US dollar was being bought and sold at Rs 156.50 and Rs 157.00, respectively.

Marketmen said that coronavirus played panic in most parts of the world. In the international markets, oil prices dipped and the local equities market also followed the suit with other regional markets, they observed.
