CHICAGO: The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) is expected to rate 59pc of the US corn crop in good to excellent condition in its weekly crop progress report, unchanged from a week ago, according to an average of estimates by 13 analysts surveyed by Reuters on Monday.

Analysts also predicted the USDA would rate 59pc of the US soybean crop as good to excellent in its initial 2019 condition ratings for the oilseed crop. Estimates ranged from 56pc to 63pc good-to-excellent.

The USDA is scheduled to release its report at 3 p.m. CDT (2000 GMT) on Monday.

Analysts, on average, expected the USDA to rate 77pc of the US spring wheat crop as good to excellent, unchanged following a drop in ratings last week.

The crop had been rated 81pc good to excellent in the week ended June 10.

For winter wheat, analysts expected the USDA to show the harvest as 19pc complete, up from 8pc a week ago.

Analysts forecast, on average, that the USDA would rate 63pc of the winter wheat crop in good to excellent condition, down from 64pc the previous week.
