CHICAGO: Following are US trade expectations for the opening of grain and soy complex trading at the Chicago Board of Trade at 8:30 a.m. CDT (1330 GMT) on Friday.

WHEAT

Down 1 to 3 cents per bushel Wheat slips in a profit-taking setback ahead of the weekend. Prices also pressured by worries over export demand as a recent rally has made US supplies too pricey to generate overseas buying interest.

Concerns that wet weather would slow winter wheat harvesting underpinned the market.

CBOT September soft red winter wheat traded down 1 cent at $5.30-3/4 a bushel. K.C. September hard red winter wheat rose 1/4 cent to $4.71, and MGEX July spring wheat was 1-1/2 cents higher at $5.47.

CORN

Down 1 to 3 cents per bushel Corn eases on profit-taking after climbing to a five-year high this week.

The market remains underpinned by worries about US production after excessive rains this spring.

Normal to above-average precipitation is expected for much of the corn belt over the next five days, forecasters said.

CBOT September corn traded 1-1/2 cents lower at $4.53-1/4 a bushel.

SOYBEANS

Down 3 to 6 cents per bushel Soybeans retreat on profit-taking after climbing to a 3-1/2 month peak this week.

Soybean remain underpinned by forecasts for more rain in the US Midwest that could force farmers to curtail their soybean acreage as planting deadline approaches.

CBOT July soybean futures held chart support at the 200-day moving average.

CBOT July soybeans last traded 5 cents lower at $9.10-1/2 per bushel.
