Arthur comfortable with Amir, Shadab's return to Pakistan

The new entrants to Pakistan's newly announced 15-men World Cup squad are training well, head coach Mickey Arthur revealed as the Men in Green practice ahead of their first warm-up match against Afghanistan tomorrow (Friday).

“Amir went pretty well today, bowled half an hour and then went through a pretty rigorous fielding session, no problems with him, Shadab did exactly the same. I am comfortable that those new players coming in, or the two players that were out through illness have comeback well,” said Arthur.

Speaking about his side batting line, the head coach said that they are looking for that ‘winning performance’ but was optimistic that the players are keen to improve their strike rates, which was evident during the recently concluded ODI series against England.

“Its ten hundreds but unfortunately it’s ten hundreds in non winning games, and that’s something we’ve got to change we’re after that winning performance obviously,” said Arthur.

Pakistan is prepping for the upcoming World Cup, as the side will play two warm-up matches, against Afghanistan on May 24 and Bangladesh on May 26, before opening their World Cup campaign against West Indies on May 31.
