Philippines bought about 50,000 tonnes feed wheat in tender

HAMBURG: A group of importers in the Philippines purchased about 50,000 tonnes of animal feed wheat in a tender which closed on Thursday seen likely to be sourced from the Black Sea region, European traders said on Friday.

The wheat was bought in two consignments, both at under $220 a tonne c&f, traders said. One put the price as low as $212 a tonne c&f for both consignments.

One consignment was for shipment between June 5-25 and one for shipment between June 20 and July 10.

"The first position will be difficult to arrange as supplies will be tight at that part of the season," one trader said.
