CHICAGO: Following are US trade expectations for the opening of grain and soy complex trading at the Chicago Board of Trade at 8:30 a.m. CDT (1330 GMT) on Thursday.

WHEAT - Up 2 to 3 cents per bushel

* Wheat on track for a fourth straight advance, lifted by technical buying and better-than-expected weekly US export sales. CBOT May wheat reached $4.75-1/2 ahead of the break in trade, its highest since March 26.

* The US Department of Agriculture reported export sales of US wheat in the week to March 28 at 1,017,600 tonnes (old and new marketing years combined), above a range of trade expectations for 300,000 to 800,000 tonnes.

* CBOT May wheat last traded up 3 cents at $4.74 per bushel. K.C. May hard red winter wheat was up 3-1/2 cents at $4.40-1/4 a bushel, and MGEX May spring wheat was up 5-3/4 cents at $5.40-1/2 a bushel.

CORN - Steady to up 1 cent per bushel

* Corn steady to firm on spillover strength from wheat and short-covering amid worries that wet conditions in the Midwest could delay planting. Gains capped by plentiful US grain inventories and disappointing weekly export sales.

* The USDA reported export sales of US corn in the week to March 28 at 630,200 tonnes (old and new marketing years combined), below a range of trade expectations for 700,000 to 1,250,000 tonnes.

* CBOT May corn last traded up 1-1/4 cents at $3.64 per bushel.

SOYBEANS - Up 2 to 3 cents per bushel

* Soybeans higher on optimism about US trade talks with China, the world's top soybean buyer, and better-than-expected weekly US export sales. However, the CBOT May contract stayed inside of Wednesday's trading range in early moves.

* President Donald Trump will meet Vice Premier Liu He, who is leading the Chinese side in the trade talks, on Thursday, the White House said.

* The USDA reported export sales of US soybeans in the week to March 28 at 1,992,200 tonnes (old and new marketing years combined), topping a range of trade expectations for 800,000 to 1,800,000 tonnes.

* CBOT May soybeans last traded up 3 cents at $9.01-3/4 a bushel.
