Algeria issues tender to buy nominal 50,000 T wheat

Published Updated

HAMBURG: Algeria's state grains agency OAIC has issued an international tender to purchase a nominal 50,000 tonnes of wheat, European traders said on Monday.

The tender closes on Tuesday, April 2.

Volumes sought in Algeria's tenders are nominal and the country regularly buys more than the volume sought.

Offers must remain valid until Wednesday, April 3.

The wheat is sought for shipment between May 16-31.

In its last reported soft wheat tender on March 13, the OAIC purchased around 450,000 tonnes after also seeking offers for a nominal 50,000 tonnes.

Algeria is a vital market for European Union wheat, especially for France. Algeria was the top destination for French soft wheat exports in January.
