Argentina soy prices stable due choppy CBOT trade

BUENOS AIRES: Argentina's closing soy prices and trends on Wednesday:

* Soy prices in Rosario closed flat at 1,360 pesos per tonne ($312) due to a lack of clear direction in the benchmark Chicago futures market, traders said. Argentine grain markets were closed Monday and Tuesday due to national holidays.

* Trade volume remained light at between 7,000 tonnes and 8,000 tonnes, roughly similar to what changed hands in the previous session.

* Soybean futures on the Chicago Board of Trade ended firm, erasing early losses as corn climbed to the day's highs toward the close and US crude oil futures briefly turned positive.

* A grains ship ran aground in the Parana river on Wednesday, which could cause delays to shipping entering and leaving ports in the Rosario area.

* In Rosario, soybeans for May delivery, priced in US dollars, closed down $2 to $305 per tonne.
