Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety & Halal Food Authority launched severe crackdown against the sweet manufacturers across the province before Eid. Sweets and bakers are warned prior to crackdown to comply with KP Food Safety standards, otherwise the premises would be sealed and stock would be taken into custody and discarded, said a press statement issued by the KP Food Authority on Wednesday.
It further reads that sever crackdown has been launched from today across the province while food authority staff will remain on duty during Eid holidays. "Necessary arrangements have been made to ensure provision of safe sweets across the province. Emergency numbers have also been shared through social and local media to address public complaints" read the press release.
The release carries strict warning for the bakery owners and those involved in stalking should not be compromised on food standards and quality. It says that every office of the authority will remain functional across all the Eid holidays to maintain authority's response to public regarding public complaints. It carries emergency contact numbers of the divisional offices for to be noted by the general public.
It further says that so far 15 bakery's production units have been sealed while today a sever operation would be carried out against the bakery houses.
