Sindh Excise and Taxation Department (ET) on Wednesday claimed to have achieved 95 percent of revenue target in 11 months of outgoing fiscal year. The department has collected Rs 59.420 billion for the period July 2017 to May 2018 as compared to Rs 52.212 billion made during last corresponding period, indicating to achieve 95 percent of its revenue target, said Secretary Excise and Taxation & Narcotics Control Abdul Haleem Shaikh during meeting at his office.
According to the departmental statistics, Rs 6430.207 million were collected as Motor Vehicle Tax, Rs 46194.352 million as Infrastructure Cess, Rs 333.972 million as Professional Tax, Rs 177.303 million as Cotton fee, Rs 1848.007 million as Property Tax, Rs 49.320 million as Entertainment Duty while remaining amount were taken on account of other taxes. Secretary ET & NC Abdul Haleem Shaikh expressed his satisfaction over the revenue collection and hoped that the department would achieve its revenue target before the end of current financial.
