Malik Mohammad Khan, father of Naqeebullah Mehsud, has demanded of the government and relevant state institutions to immediately arrest the former SSP Malir, Rao Anwar and to produce him before the Supreme Court. Speaking at a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Tuesday, he said that the people say that Naqeebullah was innocent and former SSP Malir, Rao Anwar is responsible for his murder. He expressed full satisfaction over the ongoing Supreme Court proceedings into the Naqeebullah Mehsud murder case.
Malik Hashim Khan, a member of the Grand Tribal Jirga, on the occasion said that the Pukhtuns are peaceful citizens of this country, and they fully follow the rule and constitution of the state. He said tribal people had played vital role during freedom movement of Pakistan. Replying to a question, he said the Grand Tribal Jirga would decide the future course of action during the upcoming meeting if the former SSP Malir, Rao Anwar was not produced after expiry of Supreme Court deadline.
To another query, he said that it was responsibility of the government and state institutions to arrest the SSP Rao Anwar. He said the accused must be brought to justice in the case. Malik Hashim further said the tribesmen were being facing enormous difficulties in post 9/11 scenario. He said the tribal people had suffered a lot in ongoing war against terrorism. He added that they (tribesmen) had become homeless and took shelter in makeshift camps in settled parts of the KP province.
He said massive destruction took place in Federally Administered Tribal Areas, wherein people were deprived of health and education facilities.
