The Provincial Election Commission (PEC) started training session for Lead Trainers to further train polling staff for upcoming general elections, here on Monday. The training was being conducted as part of series of trainings launched simultaneously at provincial capitals of the country from March 5 by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for Lead Trainers, enabling them to impart training onward to 900,000 strong polling staff of upcoming general elections 2018 in next phases.
According to the ECP, a total of 88 Lead Trainers who are officers of the Election Commission would be trained during the course of those trainings. These training sessions would continue till March 16 to train and enlighten the Lead Trainers on various matters with regard to transparent, fair and impartial conduct of general elections.
In next phase, as many as 3000 Master Trainers would be trained in various training sessions, starting from April 01. Having trained, those Master Trainers would start training for polling staff from May 1, apprising and educating them on various subjects regard to holding of fair and free general elections across the country.
After appointment of Returning Officers and District Returning Officers, training would be imparted according to plan before conduct of general elections.
