The Opposition in Punjab Assembly on Monday paralyzed the proceedings after they were not allowed by the Speaker to express their views on arrest of Ahad Khan Cheema. The Opposition members surrounded the chair of Speaker and chanted slogans against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif while treasury benches chanted slogans against PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
The session started 50 minutes late under the chair of Deputy Speaker Sardar Sher Ali Gorchani. The Speaker adjourned the session after 25 minutes till Tuesday after opposition members' protest.
Opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed while speaking on a point of order said that instead of suspending the services of Ahad Cheema, he has been promoted to grade 20. He predicted that Multan Metro Bus scandal will prove to be a Panama Scandal for Shahbaz Sharif. He said he will be disqualified in Multan Metro scandal. Mahmood demanded that Shahbaz Sharif should come in the House and give answers to questions of alleged corruption in mega projects of Punjab.
