A severe cyclone storm 'Okhi' is likely to strike Indian Gujarat coast in the next 24 hours and may affect Karachi and other lower parts of Sindh province. At present, the Okhi that is a category I cyclone is swirling at a speed of 70 nautical miles towards Bhavnagar on the basin of Indian Ocean (Latitude - 14.8-N and Longitude 68.7 E).
Before smashing against the Gujarat shorelines, the cyclone is expected to lose its intensity to become a tropical storm at a speed of 50 nautical miles, said Tropical Cyclone Risk forecast on Monday. In the next 24 hours: The Met Office forecast main cold and dry weather in the most parts of the country with isolated rain-thunderstorms and light snowfall over the hills in Malakand, Hazara, Mirpurkhas Divisions, besides Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
Shallow fog may continue to grip few plain areas of Punjab and Upper Sindh during morning hours. "A shallow westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country," it said. Over the past 24 hours: The country's most parts remained cold and dry with minimum temperature in Kalat minus-8 degrees Celsius, Quetta minus-6, Kalam minus-5, Skardu minus-4, Gilgit and Gupis minus-3, each.
