Babar Azam takes pressure off himself with maiden Test century

Pakistan batsman Babar Azam has enjoyed a fairy tale beginning in his limited overs cricket, with getting ranked among the world’s best batsman in One Day Internationals (ODIs) and T20 Internationals, 

However, the lack of run making in the game’s purest format, Test cricket, was something that irked many of his fans. All this has changed after Azam finally got to three figures against the New Zealand in the ongoing second Test.

“I had heard from my elders that scoring a Test century is special and that's exactly what I experienced today," Azam said, quoted cricbuzz. "In the UAE the wickets are on the slower side, you can't play through the line, you need to take your time and be patient. I was out on 99 against Australia. It's definitely a relief to get over the line,” he added.

Babar, the premier batsman of Pakistan at the moment revealed that the knock of 127 runs has given him the much needed confidence. “If you score runs, you develop a confidence, A Test hundred boosts your confidence like no other century," he said.

Babar, alongside Haris Sohail who himself scored 147, allowed Pakistan to impose a daunting first inning total of 418 runs against Kiwis in the all important second Test match.
