Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) is working to eradicate the menace of narcotics smuggling and put in place the stringent measures to contain the flow of drugs. The Force Commander Anti-Narcotics Force Brigadier Khalid Mehmod Goraya stated this while talking to the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) office bearers; president Abdul Basit and vice president Muhammad Nasir Hameed Khan here at the Lahore Chamber.
ANF is working under open door policy to guide and help business community which can approach it without hesitation and their genuine issues would be resolved, he added.
ANF will not allow any drug smuggler to tarnish the image of Pakistan and will protect the new generation from become victim of narcotics at any cost, he added.
The LCCI President Abdul Basit said that illegal drugs are injurious for the entire society. There is a dire need to promote healthy activities among youth to keep them away from this ill.
He said that while taking various steps to improve the situation by way of banning certain chemicals for open sale and introducing new procedures to purchase banned chemicals, most of our sectors have badly affected. He said that a number of chemicals are being used in educational institutes as well as in number of industries. These chemicals are freely traded and used in other countries but it seems that without taking due consideration, undue checks have been imposed and due to that a lot of people associated with these sectors are facing problems.
He said that there should be a difference between small and large scale dealers of chemical and one-window operation should be introduced.A number of LCCI members have complained that ANF staff destroys the packing of export shipment while checking which is affecting the exporters badly as foreign buyers raise fingers on bad packing, he said.
The LCCI Vice President Muhammad Nasir Hameed Khan pointed out that the LCCI members are facing troubles in getting no objection certificate and required license for chemical business.
