A widow on Thursday sought to invoke the Supreme Court's jurisdiction against the purported extrajudicial killing of her two sons allegedly by the Punjab police. Bilqees Akhtar, the widow of Muhammad Asif Bhatti, filed an application in the Human Rights Cell of Supreme Court and urged the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo motu notice against the brutal murder of her two sons and torture on family members by the police without lawful authority. She cited the SHO, DSP of Police Station Saddar Bairooni Rawalpindi, CPO Rawalpindi and Inspector General of Police Punjab as respondents.
